This lockdown is not an easy thing to go through. We hesitated to accept it at first, but now, it seems the world has taken it as a part of life. Skincare during lockdown is essential. The reason is apparent, though. First, we have hardly anything to do; second, it is best to uplift the mood and pamper the skin. Staying homes, we have realized how important it is to take care of ourselves during this lockdown phase, and even after.
Folks have been sharing their skincare routine with the world. We all have been trying one or the other method to keep our skin nourished and glowing. There is even a thought, whether we will get so much time again to pamper our skin, after this Covid-19 phase.
So, why not now?
What Is A Good Skin Care Routine During Lockdown?
Putting together skincare during lockdown seems like a piece of a cake if you are a newbie. Nobody knows what precisely will glow up your skin. Will daily exfoliation damage the skin or soothe it? Do all products suit my skin? Am I really ready to start using such products?
There are tons of questions that might give you a headache in the beginning. But, here is what everyone out there can try.
What Is A Good Skin Care Routine?
Actually, the right order to take care of your skin at home! A good skincare routine is right here for you!
Step by Step Guide to Daily Skincare during Lockdown
Follow these steps religiously for healthy glowing skin.
Step 1: Cleanse
It all starts with a clean base/face. The first step is to clean your face thoroughly to wash off the dirt. There is nothing fancy that you should use, but your regular face cleanser. Wash it off with lukewarm water, and make sure the cleaner is gentle on your skin.
During the lockdown, the natural face cleansers you can use are:
a. Chickpea Powder, Milk, and Turmeric
Mix chickpea powder, turmeric, and milk as per your requirement. Leave it on the skin for approximately 20 minutes, and then wash it with Luke warm water. Repeat twice a week, and you get a clean surface, without much trouble.
b. Honey and Milk
Mix honey and milk. Apply this thick paste on your face. Let it do its magic for around 25 seconds and then wash it off. Repeat two or three times, depending upon the condition of your skin.
c. Coconut oil, Honey, and Yogurt
Mix all these ingredients and apply them on the face, leaving for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off and follow the routine twice a week.
d. Honey, Lemon Juice, Yogurt
Prepare this pack and apply it on your face. Let it stay there for at least ten minutes, as that would be enough to make this pack work for your skin. Now wash it off thoroughly. Use once a week for the best results.
Step 2: Tone
Even I had this myth when I started my skincare routine – Toners are harsh on the skin. But that is not true! In case your skin is fine without toner and has always been, it is better not to use one now. Otherwise, here are some toners that you can try while doing skincare at home.
a. Aloe Vera Toner
By far, the best natural skin toner that one can try at home during the lockdown, even otherwise. It helps in providing relief from acne, aging skin, and super dry skin. Both vitamin C and E in Aloe Vera helps in boosting the collagen of the skin.
b. Lemon Juice Toner
Excellent toner for oily skin! Also, great in lightening skin tan. It reduces skin disorders, spots, even hyperpigmentation. Your skin will even be soothed from pimples and acne if you use it regularly.
c. Rose Water & Camphor Toner
This mixture tones the open skin pores. We have been using camphor for treating our hair and skin for years. Also, if you have any skin itching and allergies, it will help you in saying goodbye to it all.
Step 3: Serum & Eye Cream
Aloe vera makes the best serum for your face. For your eyes, you can use homemade eye cream, which you can prepare by adding a few drops of frankincense essential oil, unrefined coconut oil, and shea butter.
Are you finding the Alternative of Eye cream?
You can simply use rosemary tea bags to soothe your eyes. It does a miracle, especially when you have swelled undereye. So, in case you don’t have any eye creams available for you, try rosemary tea bags or rosemary essential oil to soothe your eyes.
Step 4: Moisturize
Yes, every skin needs moisturizer, even if it is oily skin.
